Interview with Gideon!

-So who is Gideon and whats the story behind the name?

G: Gideon is Jake, Timmy, Daniel, and Scooter. We're friends that love to hangout and play aggressive music. Gideon comes from the Bible (Judges chapter 6 and 7). He was a warrior, which felt well suited for our music.

-Are you guys a Christian band? How did you all meet? Any previous bands?

G: Yeah we're a "Christian" band. We're just very angry at the state of the current church. We're all about love. Gideon has actually been around for a while with me (Scooter) and Kris Gotlieb ( currently a memeber but is playing his last show satuday). We started Gideon with some other guys but they all quit. Daniel called me a week later and asked if we still wanted to play music and if he and Jake could join. We changed our sound a bit and I practically made Timmy join, it's been super fun since. As far as previous bands.... hahaha i'm sure they we're all terrible!

-What are your favorite bands to listen to? Influences?

G: Our influences are Advent, Between the Buried and Me, Have Heart, Thrice, Brand New, Terror, the Ghost Inside, Hundredth, Verse, Dream Theatre, In Irons, the list goes on. We're also heavily influenced by God, people we meet, and just things going on in the world. I think we all bring a different arsenal or influences and talents.

-What can you say you guys have "under your belt" as a band?

G: HA! Nothing. There's always more we could do and want to do. I will say we sucessfully played about 100 shows in 2009 with 2 members in high school both with jobs, and 3 members with fulltime jobs... we we're kinda busy lol.

-Haha thats down. What do you guys have coming up for your fans?

G: Well we're becoming a 4 piece in less than a week so we're changing our style up a tad. Less shred more aggression. We're also recording a new demo for 2010 so we're pretty happy about that. We'll also start touring fulltime in june.

-When forming this band what was your goal?

G: We just want to play everyday, meet people, and tell everyone that they're loved more than they could ever understand.

-Where do you see this band in 1 year?

G: On tour until we're dead or broke.

-What do you guys have recorded right now?

G: What do you guys have recorded right now?

-We have a 5 track demo recorded. You can download it for free on Purevolume, just go there and click the albulm cover.

-Dream tour. Who would you play with and where would you tour?

G:Advent, Beloved (rip), Animosity (rip), Lil Wayne, Brand New, and Sleeping Giant. It would be a long line-up but we'd be stoked. I wish it was everywhere including Japan, Australia, UK, Africa, and Mexico.

-What are some of the most HILARIOUS moments for Gideon? Inside jokes?

G: Daniel (our guitar player, still in high school) loses everything. He has lost a guitar, amp, wallets, shoes, shirts ect. So that always makes for fun. On summer tour we snuck into a water park to sleep during the day, possibly the best sleep ever. We've also stayed at the UN Ambassador to Afganistan's house and the guy that does the voice of Granny from Squidbillies.

-Haha, thats awesome. When it’s all said and done what do you want as a band to be remembered for the most?

G: To be remembered as people who wanted real change in individual people's lives.
